Beginner's Ritual Kit with Crystals

Beginner's Ritual Kit
The beginner's ritual kit is small, simple, and highly effective. You don't have to spend a lot of time or money to have a ritual kit that really works for you. You can always add more, too. However, what is listed below is all that is needed to get started.
1. White Sage Stick
CLEANSING
Historically, Sage has been used since almost the beginning of time for different ailments or simply as a delicious herb to accompany food. It was the Native Americans and other indigenous people who for centuries have burned sage as a way to cleanse an area or person. The act of burning herbs for purification is said to have been around since antiquity. Saining, for example, is the Scottish Gaelic tradition of burning juniper leaves for cleansing and/or blessings.
2. Black Tourmaline
PROTECTION
Protection is a major part of any ritual and should be considered when doing nearly any ritual. Whether you believe in demons, bad entities, ghosts, psychic vampires, or just old-fashioned negativity, it doesn't matter. You need protection. If it's not protection from things that go bump in the night, it's protection from yourself. It keeps you out of your head and lets the negativity be pulled away from you and grounded before it can affect you or what you're doing. For others, it offers a light in the darkness, to lead the way to spiritual enlightenment. Lighting a candle also brings significant fire energy to any rituals or spell work. They are also wonderful amplifiers of other crystals. You only need to keep one nearby to take advantage of its benefits. Create Your Own Beginner's Ritual Kit
Whether you're setting up a soothing bath, relaxing meditation, adventurous astral travel, or magickal spell work, having a ritual kit is essential! First, you want to cleanse the area by burning some sage. Then you'll want some Black Tourmaline crystals to protect yourself and the space around you. After that, you should light a candle for personal power or fire energy. Lastly, you should make sure you have at least one Quartz crystal nearby. Optionally, but recommended, add in the crystal essences and essential oils needed to reach the purpose of your ritual, such as relaxation or happiness.
How to Set up Your Space
This is just an example of how you can set up your space or prepare an area effortlessly for your ritual.
- Light your candle and ask the God or Goddess to be with you. Alternatively, you can invoke the strength of your own personal power.
- Use the candle to light the sage stick. If the end of the sage stick ignites, gently blow it out and let the sage smolder. Move the smoke around yourself and your space carefully. You can speak an affirmation here such as "I cleanse myself and this space".
- If you have a set of Black Tourmaline, set them up around you in a circle. If you only have one, set it in front of you a foot or two away.
- Place a Quartz crystal directly in front of you. If you have more than one, you can also place them in a circle around you but make sure they are inside of the Black Tourmaline circle.
- Anoint yourself (such as your wrists) or other items you might be using with at least one crystal essence and one essential oil. This is optional. Use essences and oils related to your goal. For example, if you want to boost your mood, try Carnelian Crystal Essence mixed with Bergamot Essential Oil.
