The best part about making your own crystal aromatherapy recipes is you can tailor them to what you like and need. It's hard when you find the perfect scent but just something is off or there is one essential oil you just don't like. Now, you don't have to worry about that! Here we will tell you everything you need to get started. Plus we'll tell you some of our favorite crystal aromatherapy recipes that you're sure to love and will help you feel better.

Should I use crystals or crystal essence?

There are pros and cons to both methods but it essentially comes down to choice. Some people like using crystal chips and crystal beads in their crystal aromatherapy recipes, while others would rather use their crystals for something else. While both methods will add crystal healing to your mixtures, using real crystals will take up more room in the bottle and they can't easily be used for something else until they are cleaned and dried. You must also be careful to use only tumbled/polished crystals.

While using crystal essences and/or crystal elixirs (a crystal essence is the essence of one crystal while a crystal elixir is a blend of crystal essences) in your crystal aromatherapy recipes is much easier and more versatile (since you can add several types), you will need to add an emulsifier to your ingredients list. Oil and water will not mix properly without one. Thankfully, an emulsifier is easier to find than you might think since you might already have one in your cabinet! You can use aloe vera gel, witch hazel, or polysorbate 20, as an example.

What is a carrier oil and why do I need it?

you can use many different oils as a carrier oil. This is an oil that both dilutes the essential oil and provides other nutrients for the skin. Some people use one oil and others like to mix several. Our favorites are sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, and fractionated coconut oil. You can also add things like vitamin E oil as well.

What are diffuser sets?

Our crystal diffuser sets come with two bottles: one crystal elixir and one essential oil blend. These are formulated for you by our Certified Crystal Alchemists based on Chakras, Mansions of the Moon, your zodiac sign, and more. These diffuser sets are often used in aromatherapy pendants and humidifiers. They are also perfect for making these on-the-go crystal aromatherapy bottles as they come as a set and are already formulated for you. This works well if you're not interested in blending your own essential oil scents.

Directions for Crystal Aromatherapy Recipes

Before you begin learning about the different crystal aromatherapy recipes you can blend using crystal essences and essential oils, you will need a base recipe and directions first. The steps below explain how to create your roller bottle of on-the-go healing. It is a base recipe that you can modify based on your desires or some of our pre-formulated recipes below.

Take the cap and top off the roll-on bottle. Add up to 10 drops of essential oil.
Fill the bottle up about 2/3 of the way with your carrier oil(s) of choice.
Put the cap back on or place your finger over the top of the bottle and shake it up.
Add up to 12 drops of crystal essence or crystal elixir. If you're using real crystals, you can add them instead and skip this step and the next step.
Add 5-12 drops of your emulsifier of choice.
Put the top and cap back on and shake again.

Your on-the-go crystal aromatherapy bottle is now ready to use! Roll the soothing and healing mixture onto your inner wrists, neck, or wherever you'd like to smell it on your skin.

Option One:

2 drops lemon
1 drop peppermint
2 drops frankincense
1 drop rosemary

Option Two:

3 drops frankincense
3 drops orange
2 drops cinnamon
2 drops peppermint

Option Three:

1 drop clove
3 drops orange
2 drops lemon

Option Four:

2 drops bergamot
2 drops frankincense
3 drops cypress

Recommended crystal essences: Amethyst, Tanzanite, Super Seven, and/or Citrine or Premium Crystal Elixir for Creativity.

For Balance

2 drops Geranium
