What is K2?
K2 Stone is a relatively new and highly unusual discovery, one that is pleasing to the eye, uplifting to the soul, and as awe-inspiring as the remote, snow-covered mountain for which its named, Mount K2 in the Karakoram Range of northern Pakistan. This steep pyramidal peak is also known as “Mount Godwin Austen” and is the second-highest mountain in the world.
K2 Stone is found in colluvial sediments deposited near its base, a mix of fine, white Granite composed of Feldspar minerals and flecks of Biotite infused with orbs of bright blue Azurite, two minerals rarely found together in one location. While the vivid spots appear “splashed” onto the surface of the rock, they are actually spherical concentrations of Azurite that have penetrated and “dyed” the feldspar grains as a secondary material formed after all other minerals in the granite solidified from the initial melt. Some specimens may also have small areas stained green with Malachite. K2 Stone has also been called K2 Jasper, K2 Granite, “Raindrop Azurite,” and Ketonite.
Azurite and Granite have been revered since ancient times as sacred and magical stones, important in their respective cultures as symbols of status and as conduits to the mystical and beyond. Granite is imbued with earth energy, a “guardian stone” of protection, physical strength, and increase. At the same time, Azurite is a “stone of heaven,” stimulating one’s spiritual desires and connection to the Divine. The K2 Stone unites earth and sky energies together in a lovely yet powerful tool for securing one safely in the physical realm while inspiring one to reach the highest “peaks” of consciousness.
How is K2 formed?
At the foothills of K2, it is believed that a copper-rich layer of rock made of copper minerals like azurite and malachite formerly covered an underlying layer of granite.
The copper-rich rock was worn away over many years by weathering and erosion, leaving only blue Azurite stains and faint green Malachite hints on the feldspar-rich granite beneath, creating K2 Stone.
What are K2's Metaphysical Properties?
For the spiritual seeker, K2 Stone is ideal for clearing and activating the Third-Eye and Crown Chakras. A crystal of inner vision, it may be used to enhance dreams, awaken and strengthen psychic abilities and intuition, and connect with one’s spirit guides and Higher powers for wisdom and guidance.
It is a marvelous professional stone for psychics, mediums, and other Lightworkers to remain grounded in objectivity and accuracy during their interpretations to avoid inadvertently injecting their own experiences or influences.
During meditation, K2 Stone facilitates relaxation and provides an easy entry to the “no-mind” state, urging the soul toward enlightenment. It allows one to travel deep within the inner being or to journey safely out of the body. It brings assistance in exploring past or alternate lifetimes and may utilize for multidimensional cellular reprogramming.
For those not content to draw inspiration from afar but are compelled to push their limits to experience nature at its most extreme, K2 Stone is an empowering and protective ally, a talisman of strength and personal will aligning one’s physical structure with the ethereal nervous system. It encourages one to dig deep from one’s experiences, roots, and traditional origins for strength and might and to understand that when the mind wills it, the body will emit the precise amount of energy needed in any situation.
For those who struggle with tremendous obstacles in their daily lives and those who know their battle may not end in victory but give it all they’ve got, K2 Stone can be a beautiful talisman of hope and support. It eliminates fear, indecision, and worry and imparts clear direction with an unimpaired flow of energy to dissolve barriers to one’s progress.
How to use K2?
Use K2 Stone as an aid to banish skepticism and negativity and to help one see the big picture in life. It can assist in sorting out beliefs from what has been taught and releasing that which no longer feeds the soul. Keep in one’s environment as a stone of spiritual betterment to utilize one’s talents for the good of all beings rather than for personal gain or ego fulfillment. Wear or carry to bring balance in relationships or group efforts and to facilitate diplomacy and discretion.
