Fire Elemental Energy Explained
In Feng Shui, fire is one of the five elements of all energy. The others are Metal, Wood, Earth, and Water. As explained in the Feng Shui part of the Crystal Vaults, each of these elements are critical to keep in balance in our lives and in our homes.
Fire energy is the energy of enthusiasm, warmth, brightness, illumination and activity. It is Yang in nature. It is the energy of heat, action, emotion and passion- of ideas, of concepts, and sex. It is alive, potent, but often destructive. We all need the heat, passion, and life giving energy of the fire element. It is a powerful element that must be used in moderation.
Fire energy is symbolized by red hues such as red, violet, amethyst, and orange. Use these colors of crystals to enhance any space that you use for high energy activities. Use the red hues of crystals to bring the sun’s power and the fire element’s energy to your life and home. Charge up a space with these crystals. Spring into action with their energy.
Fire energy is traditionally associated with the south area of a home or room. It is associated with the fame and reputation area your life and dwelling, Use its energy to give your life the boost it needs to enhance your standing in the community and within your family.
In the Black Hat approach to Feng Shui, the metal element is associated with the area in the back center of your house or room. This area should have good fire energy. This is the traditional place for a fireplace. Lacking one, consider a cluster of several red, violet, and orange crystals. In the winter time when there is little sun to bring in fire energy use more crystals. In the summer remove some of them as sunlight grows brighter bringing in more fire energy.
You can support the fire energy in a location by not only adding some red, orange or violet crystals to bring the energy into the space, but also by adding some wood energy to that space to support the fire element. Green or dark brown crystals placed near the red ones are perfect.
If there is is too much water energy in a space that needs fire energy, for example a pool or fish tank in the south of the home or room, it should be reduced to keep it from harming the fire energy. Traditionally light brown crystals representing the earth element are used.
Fire energy diminishes metal energy, and enhances earth energy. Red, violet, and orange crystals can be used in areas where there is too much of the wood element or in an area with too little of the earth element. The fire element like the others, is essential for life. You need its energy and zest to be fully engaged in life and love.
