Description: Â Moqui Marble, also known as Shaman Stone, are a natural stone formation found in the Navajo Desert of the United States. The chocolate-colored rock is an iron oxide concretion consisting of a Sandstone center surrounded by a hardened shell of Hematite. They can be as old as 25 million years old and as young as 300,000 years old.
There are two ways to identify if the stone is masculine or feminine. One way identifies by shape, “male” Moqui marbles are thought to have a more protruding or pronounced outer ring, while “female” Moqui marbles have a flatter or more rounded outer ring.
Moqui marbles are sometimes classified as “male” or “female” based on their stone texture, where “male” stones are considered rough, and “female” stones are considered smooth.
