Introduction to Meaning and Uses of Serandite
With a unifying grace and an exceptional pink color, Serandite is a rare crystal with a simple purpose – to promote harmony. Its loving energy permits an ease of connection and encourages tolerance and acceptance.
Serandite is a treasured collector’s stone, used almost exclusively as a mineral specimen or for metaphysical use. It is a silicate mineral that forms in elongated crystal formation, usually in a series with Pectolite or other rare minerals. Its lovely pink color is similar to only a few other minerals in the world, though due to a significant percentage of manganese ions, is usually more salmon than pink. It may range from pale pink, salmon, orange and red, to brown and colorless, and is transparent to translucent, streaked with white, and displays a silky luster that is distinct. Serandite is the most famous of the unique minerals found at Mont Saint-Hilaire in Quebec, Canada. It was discovered in 1931, and named for J.M. Serand, the mineral collector who assisted in its collection. [Mindat.org][Galleries.com]

Serendite Physical Healing Energy
Serandite may be used to enhance the assimilation of manganese and calcium, and to balance the levels of sodium in the body. [Melody, 597]
Serendite Emotional Healing Energy
Serandite is an excellent crystal for alleviating discontent and frustration. It helps to overcome envy, jealousy, and vengefulness, and in understanding the reasons behind the emotions. It assists in reducing misunderstandings and hyper-sensitivity to others. [Melody, 597]
Serendite Chakra Healing and Balancing Energy
ink Serandite is associated with the area between the Base and Sacral Chakras. It is used for the spiritual healing of issues related to conflicts between emotions and one’s basic instincts, and focuses the Universal Life Force on dealing with the complexities of the modern world and bringing balance to life.
The Base, or Root Chakra, is located at the base of the spine and controls the energy for kinesthetic feeling and movement. It is the foundation of physical and spiritual energy for the body. When it is physically out of balance the symptoms will manifest themselves as lethargy, low levels of activity, low enthusiasm, and a need for constant stimulation. When its spiritual energies are out of balance, you may feel flighty, disconnected from reality, and distant. When the Base Chakra is in balance, the physical body regains its strength and stamina, and the spiritual energy is rekindled in the form of security and sense of one’s own power. It often leads to independence and spontaneous leadership.
The Sacral Chakra, or Second Chakra, is located below the naval and above the pubic bone at the front of the pelvis. It controls the flow of energy and is the center of gravity of the body. It is the center of the Life Force of the body, and controls the flow of information from the body to the mind and from the mind to the body. Gut feelings, intuition, and other “non-linear” communication comes from this chakra. When it is out of balance the symptoms will manifest themselves as confusion, over dependency on others, repression of feelings, inability to feel joy, fear of sensuality or sex, and frustration. When it is in balance you have grace, feel pleasure in life, find you are flexible and can “go with the flow” and do so in good spirit.
Serendite Spiritual Energy
Serandite assists in defining one’s goals, and in balancing the emotional and intellectual bodies in order to manifest the higher, more spiritual aspects of one’s Life path. It encourages tolerance of others, and in being guided by one’s own honorable sense of right and wrong. [Melody, 597]
Serendite Color Energy
Light red, or pink Serandite brings the energy rays of determination, commitment, and caring. Its soothing color calms feelings of anger or resentment, and can aid efforts to meditate and reflect. Pink is the color of new love, new romance and new relationships. It increases developing sensuality, and can help overcome heartache, aiding in the improvement of our caring and loving abilities.
Serandite, in shades of scarlet, combine the energy of the pure red ray, and the exuberance and joy of the orange. It is the color of strength and vitality, both physical and spiritual. Lighter shades of scarlet, the lightly tinted red-oranges, are excellent talismans of dedication in young relationships. They combine the pink energy of romantic love with the light orange energy of contentment with family and friends.

Birthstones
There are several ways to find an appropriate birthstone. The traditional one is listed first. These are from the popular lists that most people are familiar with. The second way is to find your natural birthstone by the color wheel of life. You can click on the Natural Birthstone graphic below to learn more. Finally many people use the traditional stones of the Zodiac.
In this section you will find information on all three approaches.
Serendite Traditional Birthstone
Serendite is not a traditional birthstone.
Serendite Natural Birthstone.
Serandite which is more salmon in color is one of the natural birthstones of those born in the first month of autumn, from September 23 – October 21.
In lighter shades of pink, Serandite is one of the natural birthstones of people born in mid-autumn, from October 22 – November 20.
Serendite – not a Zodiac Stone
Serendite is not associated with any sign of the Zodiac.
Serendite Amulets and Talismans
Serandite is a Seeker Harmonizer crystal. Seekers contain a crystal energy structure that aligns the natural energy of the crystal to the natural power of the human mind to find the way to new horizons and new capabilities. They’re pointers, directors, and compasses; the fresh start crystals. These are talismans of the scientist, the adventurer, the hunter, wanderer, and explorer. They’re also crystals of the student and the researcher.
Harmonizers, called the chain and band silicates, bind together in a long chain, distributing energy in a balanced, long-term way. They encourage efforts aimed at smoothing a path through difficulties, promoting harmonious relationships within a larger group, like family, and a peaceful acceptance of life’s inherent situations.
Serendite Feng Shui
With its Fire energy, pink Serandite is the color of richness and luxury in traditional Feng Shui. However, too much red or pink may lead to restlessness and over stimulation. They are best used as an accent and accessory. Use pink crystals in rooms in which children play, and freely in rooms where energy levels are focused on activity. Dining rooms and kitchens benefit from pink crystals as they allow the free flow of energy that is important in these areas. It is traditionally associated with the south area of a home or room, and with the fame and reputation area of your dwelling.
